Job Duties include :

• Develop a comprehensive backup and recovery plan, considering the organization’s needs and ensuring that the backup/restore/recovery processes are automated, efficient, and reliable.
• Monitor database storage space usage, disk usage, and network performance to ensure adequate space for the database to function and that data can be accessed quickly and efficiently.
• Implement specialized backup and recovery solutions to accommodate large data volumes.
• Write shell scripts to automate various tasks, such as removing old archived logs and backups from disk, and compare these backups with tape and TSM.
• Install, configure, and upgrade databases in LUW (Linux, Unix, and Windows) environments, ensuring that the databases are secure and performant.
• Maintain database structures version-wise and standardize DDL scripts using ERWIN.
• Perform database refresh and restore activities on demand using Oracle import/export, data pump, and RMAN utilities.
• Collaborate with ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) teams to fix data issues and handle monthly data purges.
• Work with system and storage administrators to gather and understand performance statistics and tune the database server accordingly.

Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree in Comp Sci, Engg, IT, or related with at least 60 months of experience. Salary ranges between $133,869.00 to $137,000.00/year.
